Bonjour,
La ligne fait par zezo pour la route optimal pour le vendée globe n'apparait pas encore pour moi. Elle apparaitra quand la course aura commencée ?
Merci :)

hello! I have the same question ........
Post by iconPost by Avontuur | 2020-11-05 | 17:21:44
try to set a destination

Post by iconPost by domigo | 2020-11-05 | 17:29:47
....and also for the orange line (orthodromie) ? thank you
Post by iconPost by zezo | 2020-11-05 | 18:12:41
The orange line jut links the starting point and the routing destination as the crow flies. Not very informative most of the time, just gives you some visual clue where you are going.

Right mouse button -> Go to Fernando de Noronha.

I've set it as default destination before, but sooner or later you have to learn about setting the routing target ;-)

I can also move the default destination around with the fleet, but that's not the point of the router.

Bonjour
Y t il une bouée de passage a Fernando de Noronha ?
Cordialement
Post by iconPost by Inicio | 2020-11-06 | 12:31:56

Hi,

What is the "Fernando de Noronha" waypoint used for ?
Post by iconPost by toxcct | 2020-11-06 | 15:12:31
It's just a first waypoint on our way to the south, because zezo cannot just route you to Cape Town easily. So you have to help it, and the way down to south atlantic generally performs better close to the shores of Brazil, than the western shores of africa...

I'm noticing that sometimes, VR's projected path looks totally wrong beyond the first 12 hours. Anyone else seeing that? Any idea why?

For example, right now, I'm projected to get to the area where Theta's winds build above 20 kts in about 14 hours. The projected path in the game looks about right for the first 12. But then it looks very wrong. In particular, it has me covering only about 18 nm between the 12-hour point and the 24-hour point, despite sailing at TWA 95 in 20-30 kts wind.

My guess is that the projected path fails to account for autosails beyond 12 hours, or something like that? So maybe it thinks I'll be sailing with a C0 or even LG when I should be going to a Staysail, or something like that?

Not a problem as long as you're always only scheduling 12 hours ahead, or if conditions are stable enough for whatever's causing that to not be an issue... But disconcerting to see it, and a problem if you need to be away for more than 12 hours.

The same for me. 12 hours seems like the limit.

Above 18-20 knots, and when the sails needs to switch to HG or Stay, it does not seem to recognize this.

As the wind speed increases, the "old" sail (C0/LG/LJ) would no longer work, but for the path projector it is still there.

It has already happened when I need to plan a ridge ou rounded wind pass beyond 12 hours with 2+ manouevers/sail changes. After the jibe boat remains moveless...

A few more hours and I'll see if the theory is correct.

Or maybe autosails is renewed every 12 hours like the old engine...

Hello, what the meaning of the multiple points on the charts?

all players in VR? those using Zezo?

meaning of red points vs blue?

This post explains it:

Sadly, there is no proper manual, so the forum is the main resource. And my personal mail.

I'm seeing a bigger issue than even the one Your Mom reported: the projection is very different even for the first hour. The closest I can match from the polars is if there are no options (ie basic sails, no foils). But I'm running with nonVIP full pack.
For example, at 6 hrs, zezo predicts 120 miles, and VR 92 miles...
Anyone else see this?

I have seen what YourMomSa is reporting.

My assumption is that the "trajectory" computation lacks valid wind models between 12 & 24h (I assume it has the same intervals as the ones we can see hourly / 6 / 9 /12 / 24)

We will see if it gets better in the trade winds. I would assume that constant wind should be OK.

Another weird thing I have seen yesterday was that for some segments locked at 120 to 140 TWA, it looked fine, but if I asked it to go 90 TWA it would make a zero length segment (event if it lasted a few hours)

Anyone else losing all programming settings several times? Just kaboom all gone. Boat refuses to keep course after course change, just flips back to previous course. And the thing Your Mom reports as well. Guess were on the messed up server, hillffffeeeeeee

What is she serving that has that guy behind her so , “happy”?

Sometimes the loss of programming seems to be in the UI only. I've seen cases where Dashboard is showing my proceeding according to plan while the UI is showing something totally wrong. It seems to eventually correct. Weird and stressful.

I haven't witnessed the loss of programmation myself, but that doesn't mean it isn't happening.

I've got the real problem a couple of times, programmed points lost, having back the old ones. Other times it was just a matter of refresh
what I am doing now is lo leave and re-enter a number of times, not very nice :-\

Same prob as YourMomSA. 5 Day projection within VR doesn’t work as expected with auto sails always on. Like this it is not really useful anymore in the long term .....
It showed a really short track between 48h and 3 days just in advance the last strong wind system ....
