Buoys turn
Post by iconPost by tabasco2 | 2019-06-23 | 15:02:07

Dear friends:
I would like to know how is the trick to turn a buoy. 1- Do you have to go outside the orange circle? 2- Just touch the orange circle, ok? 3- Is the center of the buoy used to be valid ?. I've lost a lot of time in these tacks. Is it convenient to use Waypoints and automatic sail change ?. Because every sail change in the buoy causes my boat to go back and I do not know what the place to do it is.
Thank you very much for your help

The game buoy is a point object. Your track should pass around the point.

Easiest with waypoints. Place the flag as close to the buoy as you dare. Should be fine as long as there is visible offset.

With sharp turns place 2 waypoints overlapping each other and the buoy.

Ciao Cvetan, could you pleas explain it better?
So I should put a Wp1 and a Wp2 exactly overlapping the buoy? Is this applicable to tne Fastnet bouy in th CCDEDHEC?
Thank you!

To me the dashboard map it’s still the better way to put down waypoints at a buoy, I’ve managed to be able to move the cursor with the keyboard, to be able to change in very little steps in full zoom. It’s working very well on bouys, very dangerous around the rocks because the maps do not perfectly overlap. With this technique I regularly crash :((

I can't stress this enough - don't rely on the coastline in VR Dashboard. It's not using the same map as VR. Only the position of waypoint w.r.t buoys is reliable.
