It's now possible to select up to 16-day forecast from the "track duration" drop-down box, located in the upper right-hand corner of the chart.

Availability of the feature will be limited during peak load times (generally around in-game wind changes)

The long-tern weather forecast will be updated only two times/day (around 11:30 and 23:30 UTC) because the GFS output runs in 12-hour increments after the 10th day.

Wind data for the longer periods won't be displayed on older browsers (IE8 or less)

Wow. That is very cool. Looking forward to this look when it counts.

It may not be very useful in the expected weather conditions. I've been following the forecasts for a week and there were very few cases where the routing would go North first, close to Taiwan, with possible lane East, but 95% of the time it goes pretty much great circle, one side of New Britain or the other.

Ant then there is also a small possibility that a route south of Papua could win, but that's very rare.

The quality of 16 days forecast is not enough to use it, I'm afraid...

It's probably quite unreliable, but might still be better than the track ending in the middle of nowhere. We'll have to wait and see.

There are times you have to commit to certain route and stay with it. Changing your strategy every 6 hours is not a good idea even with a 7-day forecast.

Zero thank you for all your work! It will be interesting to see how forecasting rolls forward with such a long look forward day wise.

Has anyone else noticed that the community forum on www.virtualregatta.com has been removed without notice or explanation. They have also removed the polar data from the game.
Does anyone know why?
Is it because of their computer glitch in the game towards the end of Leg3 of VVOR or because too many people criticized the virtualregatta organisers?
[sorry if this comment is out of place here. Not sure where else to post it]

It is off the net by posted notice along with other net services. This notice was before the start and to save IT resources.

Seems like the 16 day forecast doesn't work for me. When I select "16" the map defaults to 8 and doesn't show the option anymore

It's hard to define precisely the "off peak" hours during which 16 day routing is available.I have to experiment a bit and possibly get/rent a new server to handle the load.
