The Dashboard simply shows the values transmitted by the server, and the server is authoritative on the boat heading, speed and position...

I think that VR have implemented (or modified) "dead reckoning" in the client with one of the latest updates, and now it really doesn't work that well. Also with the start of RdR, the update interval has increased from 2 to 5 minutes and that may have aggravated the display errors.

The dead reckoning works pretty well in the client now. It would be a disaster if it did not, with the 5 minute update interval.

If you want to make sure the positions match just wait (up to 5 minutes) for the server-side position message. But most of the time it does not really matter - the router runs in 10 minute steps anyway so it's always few minutes off.

You're right of course, it's the dashboard values that just get stale (and I even use to call the router right after an update myself).

About the TWA/heading and speed display I'm not sure. They didn't sync at the updates. Also, in rotating wind the UI displayed my track as a jagged line. I'm assuming that's because server and UI disagreed on the boat heading. When the UI receives the next fix, the position jumps.
