Hi, zezo! I used your site during the VORG and have now decided to check it out again for the MP Clipper 09-10 race. It is VERY impressive and my only comment thus far is that your sail names don't correspond with the sail names used by the game. Is this user changeable?

I forget this all the time.

Just replaced N2/G/C0 with Y3/Y2/Y1

Muchas gracias, mi amigo!

Another question/suggestion! I understand that MP doesn't allow access to their database for you to update boat positions automatically but can the same result be achieved, at least for Firefox users, by linking to the Firefox data cache as VRTool does?

Not in a simple way. For security reasons different browser windows can not communicate with each other (and with disk files).

The only way around this is writing browser add-on to do it.

Many thanks, again. Now I'm getting out of my depth. Greatly appreciate your Simulator as is!

Since the last wind update @ 20:00h GMT+1 your Clipper speeds don't seem to match the game polars. What's up?

I have noticed that I get a different suggested track and different steering angle when I set the chart to a 3 day prediction compared to a 7 day prediction. This is not surprizing as the 7 day wind forecast will always have a higher degree of uncertainty.
My question is: How much reliance do other users of SS place upon the longer range forecasts? Does anyone have any figures on the percentage accuracy of long-range weather predictions?

The forecast accuracy depends on the conditions. In strong winds and well formed weather systems it is pretty good, but in weak winds like those that are in front of the Clipper now it gets unreliable even in short term.
