VR Dashboard Version 3.13.1
Post by iconPost by jf44 | 2020-11-23 | 10:54:04

Hi,

I use VR Dashbord Fleet menue to get the friends and Team position, so I can display ours boats in Google Earth in 3D, etc.

But since this morning I can't get rid of the Real boats, Top VSR and others boats that I would not display in my G.E. maps...

Have you the same issue with the filtering options ?
Is it a bug and then from Virtual Regatta or the Dashboard ?

Very pleased to use your tools anyway.
Excellent work for us virtual sailors.

Cheers.

The question is, if you follow a 'real' boat and you have 'Friends' enabled, but 'Reals' disabled, which filter should win?

Currently the 'positive' filter wins, ie. the real+friend boat is displayed because friends are displayed.

Would it be more useful to reverse this logic? Either way is fine for me.

It seems that the rule Friends enabled is also impacting Team.
I cannot see a team member if he is also friend.
Per my view, Team should be winning.Nothing urgent of course :)

Hi Hardtack!
Thanx for your answer.

For me the very first is to get the team, then the friends (without any real boat if the "Real" filter is off), etc.

If a real boat is a friend it has to be displayed when the filter "Friends" is on, but not any of the other real boats if the filter "Real" is off.

My goal is to catch a table of my team and (eventually friends) positions, set a ranking for that boats (using DTU to my boat) and draw a Google Earth view like that :

BTW don't bother too much! I'll manage now the boats with my own app (with VR Dashbord for getting the raw data ;)) .

What does the DTF in brackets (much smaller than the actual DTF) in the Fleet tab mean?

DTF
Distance to finish
DTF is available from a player's User Card. If you did not request the User Card yet, VR Dashboard instead displays the great circle distance to the finish (in parenthesis).

OK the great circle distance was the answer I was looking for. Also useful info this way of retrieving the information.

Thanks!

Hi Hardtack,

In this version when I route Leszek2011 from the fleet tab after clicking on him in game it misses the light sails option - love that you made it use that info, works great for the FP boats, thanks.

Oops. A new version is currently in review by Google already. I'll fix it with the next one.

Encielre,

First, I'll point out that your OS is at least a decade out of date, so that may cause your experience to differ.

I connect differently to Dashboard on my iMac and on my Window 10 PC. With the Mac I find I have to click the Dashboard extension icon immediately after opening the VR website. I always start at the Offshore page. If I wait until the page is loaded, then I have all sorts of problems. Exiting and re-entering until it connects.

With my Windows 10 tablet it's completely different. I have to wait till the VR page fully loads before launch the Chrome extension.

In your case, try launching the extension, immediately after clicking your bookmark for VR and BEFORE the page has a chance to load.
