Hi to everyone,
I don't understand something.
I made a brief simulation of the upcoming leg 5 and got better times with only light sails and slightly worse adding to light the C0.
How is this possible?

I noted that adding the C0, it's never used, just the route slightly change ...

It's used briefly during the final approach.

The times are about the same, just the distance from the last black dot to the finish is slightly bigger (but the approach is at better angle/speed, so the difference cancels out)

That also explains the slightly different trajectory.

I'm planning to do it on credits and haven't bought the C0 yet. It's often a critical sail, but might wind up being unused this time around.

You can purchase the C0 later if you need it. It looks like a downwind leg right now, but the GFS is not very reliable in those parts of the world.

They enabled post-start purchasing? I didn't notice because I almost always either buy full pack or get all options (except the radio) on credits, or just don't race. I don't like having zero chance to win. But... if you can buy options after the start now, that makes racing on credits more fun than I realized... you could start with only what you know you need, and then add later if necessary. For example, there was an Urgo leg where I couldn't decide if I needed Heavy sails or not. Didn't realize I could start without them and decide later.

Yes, for a quite a while now. Maybe at the time you got the detailed option screen. You can click a sail you don't own and get an offer. Or click your boat, tap the appropriate icon and get the item (also works for foils)

Limiting purchases to pre-start does not make monetary sense, even if it's a better reflection of the real world, and some marketing guru at VR figured that out at some point.
