I am on a flyer in west and started watching how I am doing against others after gybe to South
I am on TWA 140 like quite many are. My speed is 25.8 (full pack). Still for example Mareve is having one knot less wind and still doing the same speed. We both have Heavy Gennaker on
Something is wrong here...
With polars I should be doing almost 26 knots...
Am I slowed down...?

Now I have 26 knots of wind and still doing 25,8 knots in game display. Although zezo dashboard shows 25,97 knots.
What do you reckon, is my boats H&G display jammed like in real world sometimes.

As I am writing this all of a sudden display reads 25,9.
Really interesting, how do we know if VR gods can do this kind of things?
If it happened...?
And can they affect the wind in the game?
I felt funny things happening last Volvoleg from Hongkong.

aren't confusing boat speed and best VMG while reading the polars by any chance ?

No, feels like the polars are wrong or my boats's performance is compromised.

I do honestly also struggle with speed versus others. I am sailing right now 10-15 miles further west than the ones I am following. We all have same heading. I am according to the VR Dashboard consantly 0.5 to 1 kn faster than the ones I am comparing myself too. This happening for some hours. Yet, I was loosing ground (3 miles) to them.
I can't understand this. Anyone out there who could give me a view?

If you are further west, you are further to the goal line, and even though you are sailing 1 knot faster, you may not be going straight to it, hence the loss

I am really looking at DTU (Distance to Us) in the Dashboard, not at the Distance to Finish value, which is relative and I would understand the deviations there.

The interface just lies to you about your boat speed. And about the wind speed. The only way to be sure is to use the extension (or register another boat and observe yourself from its POV)
