Hello, we are trying to invigorate the old 'SO' community and propose a challenge with the boats only equiped with sails purchased within the limit of the credits given by VR. Any combinaison is possible, provided the combination is within the credits offered (So WP+P/CO/LS/HS + P). The challenge will last 1 year, the points obtained for 8 best races ranked 1 (VSR 5-6) and the 4 best races ranked 2 (VSR 1-2-3-4) will be taken into account.

Hi Marcus,

I've signed up for two races, but never saw my boat listed in rankings (Ursus Maritimus) plus it's mainly in French at the House Club ;)

Personally I prefer the NMS group that is organised on Facebook and predominantly in English:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1359694164141758

There are a couple of classes and it is possible to save credits from some races and spend it on others to make a good VSR classification and get VSR-points. If you only sail PDD, you will be piling up cash or spend it on a coloured boat and/or radio. Made it to 60th in VOR3

Anyway, both options are great if you don't want to spend money and still have fun and compare with other players.

Greetz, Mike

Hi Mike,

Indeed, you participated to the Clipper 6 in PDD. It's just an oversight. Sorry, you're now included in the PDD overall ranking.

And for the Jules Verne, the race is not over yet so we need to wait a bit to attribute each one the points according to the rank...

Hi Mike,
We still need to improve the way we record the ranking. And as usual, VR does not help us. In the past, you only had to be part of a club to get a ranking. Now, it is not possible anymore. We are using a club or a city to have all boats recorded to make it easier. But this is not perfect. I had to get naturalized french - lol (well my boat Tibalus) to be part of the city where some of the data are recorded.
Regarding the credits, most of the players are in the same case than you, this is why a boat that would have enough credits and that would participate in full option for a race, can be replaced by a 2nd boat with only the equipment that fits the criteria. And the results of the second boat would be recorded for the 1st one. Also only the best 12 results are taken into account. We have put a little bit of thinking around this (well almost 300 messages !) and we thought that the most important was that all boats part of the challenge must have the same chance of success to win. Just need to think which package of sails appears to be the most important for a given race.
And yes, english should be used more often in the club house !

one boat is enough for me to handle, certainly with multiple races at the same time ;)

How do you put the link in addition to the adress?

use [url] for opening and this closing tag /url between [ ]

similar to images where you have to make the image 600 px wide, upload somewhere and than like this

[img] opening tag
closing tag /img between [ ]

Hello,
2019 is approaching to an end... and 2020 is almost there. Already 2 years that a group of passionate players has initiated the 'PDD/No Money challenge' This year more that 250 players have registrered to at least one race, we had one race with 88 players, and the average number of players registered was 54.
For the 2020 challenge, the comitee has decided to innovate, and will propose not one challenge but 2 : one for the races, and the other one for the records. For the 'record' challenge, the 4 best races will be taken into account, whereas the 12 best races will be recorded for the PDD challenge. Some simplification as well, no more differention between short and long races.
Interested ?
Just have a look on the link below and register for the first race :

I wish you an Happy New Year 2020

Marc
