Hi Cvetan,

New years greetings to you and your family.
I've noticed you have removed the Clipper heading from the charts, just wondering you going to continue supporting this race in time for the start tomorrow morning?
I hope so.

Regards llamedos

Happy new year!

I haven't touched anything - should be still there ;-)

Will add the destination coordinates after the race starts.

Hi,

Whoops, sorry just me being thick again, didn't look properly, must have been too much excitement about sailing again.

Regards llamedos

Hello and Happy New Year,

I think that zezo et VRTool don't show correct boat speed compar to PACOTOOL (how is compliant with VR).

I'd like to know why ?

Wind : 17.28 Knots - 190°
Boat Heading : 330°
Boat Wind Angle : 140°
Boat Sail : LightSpi

Zezo and VRTOOL : 11.8
PACOTOOL : 11.61
VR : 11.6

An idea ?

Paco

Ho I think this problem has been seen already... It is the "crossover point stuff"...

Yes. Both the site and VRTool use a "perfect sail" polars with information which sail should be used at which speed, but that is broken at the crossover points. I think about writing polar 'compiler' that avoids that, but haven't done it yet.

Hi all, compiled polars files for VRTool can be downloaded from my site :

Thanks. I was thinking about that approach - table, containing all possible wind speeds in km/h and single lookup instead of linear interpolation during the optimization. It could even be a tiny bit faster that way.

P.S. Nice chart too. I will bookmark it for future use ;)

Many Thanks, Big Horn. I'm scrambling to recover my skill set from VORG days!
