Thanks Zezo for your excellent program.

Some questions:
1) what's the difference between the little red and black dots (contestants I guess)
2) Is it possible to add the course line to my boat?

Cheers

Red dots are boats that were checked via the site, and black dots are their friends. That's a bit misleading as everyone will check the leaders by name and they will appear in red even if not using the service, but still gives general idea about players aware of zezo.org.

I keep position fixes in the database, but have not found the time to do something useful with them.

Displaying the track on screen is just one application (requiring some vector format, and that need some work to make it cross-browser compatible and not terribly slow) and there are other possible applications like comparing your performance to another player over time or checking how many times you overslept a sail change.

But that will be left for the next game, if there is one.

How does the display show only who has used the site? I don't know how many times I have typed in the names of competing boats just to project their courses!

That's why it's misleading. But judging from the statistics most of the red dots (70-80%) are true users - with the possible exception of current and past leaders that you mention, of course.

Thanks for the reply, Zezo. Comparing performance would be an excellent idea. Keep on doing the good work!

checking on oversleeping?

We don't want that! Let's not go there!

Hi Zezo,

Can you explain quickly the use of the 1 day 3 day 5 and and 7 day track options... is it useful in long term strategy ???

The 7-day track is useful for strategy indeed, but is run in bigger steps (1 hour) than the shorter tracks and therefore less accurate about the short-term data.

Hi zezo,
You have done an excellent job ! It's incredible.
What is the function of te boat name ?
Best regards

It fetched your position automatically from the game server ... before ManyPlayers disabled that functionality for 3th party applications. I should probably remove it, but there were few ideas for possible workaround.
