VR is posting new races at an absurd pace.
It's so fast that my particiation is dropping rather than rising. For a while there, I was at a limit where I would show up PDD to help my team hit 10, and I'd race seriously in other races, and it was still usually fun...
I always did the records. No more. One at a time was good. Now it's 2 or 3. I like records, but I can't do that.
So I'm just racing when it looks fun now. Still sometimes PDD to help my team get 10, but mostly just races that look fun. (And... After ~10 years... anything transatlantic is unlikely to look fun anymore... I'd love to do a real live transat... but I've done it virtually enough for a lifetiime).
My question, though, is... How does Cvetan keep up with it? Is he still a one-man operation, or does he have volunteer helpers? I tend to think there are probably numerous people out there who would be happy to help with the basic mechanics of setting up new races and keeping the home page's menu up to date. Certainly it makes sense for Cvetan to keep the core code to himself, but it seems likely that there would be no shortage of people happy to help with that kind of basic gruntwork...??
