Hi everyone.

I am struggling a bit with the stamina rules and I saw on one of the forums that the new dashboard version includes the stamina? Is that true and if so how can I get it? I tried to update the version I ahve but it did not add any new functions.

You're probably referring to discussion on the VR discord.
VRDashboard doesn't display stamina and I currently don't intend to support it.
Also not everybody seems to want it - see the previous thread.

I would love to see stamina in VRDashboard. I find myself trying to infer others stamina and trying to figure out if my decision to go to manual sail changes and skip over the switch to LG and go straight to CO was the right thing.

While we are at it, would really love to see VMC. That's a number I'm really used to having in Realsail now, and I'm glued to it.

You can find other's stamina in the Raw log - switch it on, click on a boat in VR and look for getBoatInfo messages as mentioned by McFly BSP in the other thread.
But is it really that significant? Did VR publish a formula how it affects penalties?

Also, as you say, the interesting part is comparing the effect of skipping a sail change, but this requires simulating the route, using wind information which VRDashboard doesn't have.

VMC on the other hand requires a reference destination for the course. That could be the next gate, but often boats don't go close to either end of a gate. I'm open for suggestions.

VR's dtf numbers I think are to the visible end of the gates. That's inaccurate when the mark is in the middle of a landmass. You will often notice that boats behind you in the train are ranked higher as you round a landmass, because they are closer to the middle, while on the other side. However, I'd be fine with that. Wouldn't you like to know the relative VMCs of the group going up the Irish coast vs the group heading straight to Iceland?

On the other matter, I think stamina management is going to be crucial. Some of my routings were looking like we were going to be tacking into Iceland. If that's the case, some boats could be stuck in a perpetual speed reduction of 30%.

Okay, looks like stamina should be taken into account for the penalty display. Beyond that I don't really see what VRDashboard could do. I doesn't have wind data and it can't calculate routes.

That would be great. You want to know how you are managing your stamina relative to others. Who has stamina to maneuver and who is going to be significantly hampered by it.
