In recent days, there have been many issues with GRIB updates. It is quite unusual. Is Cvetan still taking care of Zezo ? In any case, I hope he is okay !

Users,

The data center that is hosting FTPPRD is experiencing some problems which are impacting our FTPPRD site. Some parts of FTPPRD may be available intermittently, but new model data stopped posting there at approx 1900Z.

NOMADS is not experiencing an issue and is still getting updated data.

We will update again when we have more information. Thank you for your understanding.

Users,

Our outage continues. To help mitigate impacts to users, we are setting up a data feed for just the GFS output on FTPPRD. This will begin running in the next 30 minutes and will take some time to backfill what is currently missing. After that point, the GFS on FTPPRD should be relatively on-time until everything is restored.

Full recovery will take a minimum of 10 hours. When the systems are fully functional again, we will begin with fresh data transfers and will not be backfilling any missing model data. That data will still be available on NOMADS.

Thank you. We will send another notice when the systems are fully functional again.

I was using FTPPRD. Switched to NOMADS, but when the ftp is down NOMADS gets overloaded and sluggish too.
