It's a record attempt type race, open for two months, and those have the "start at" drop-down list instead (and the "predicted times" link)

For this one you can actually check the forecast time to South Africa. It should probably be below two weeks.

Could someone please provide some info about the racers-to-date in IDEC? Are any finishers exceptionally good so far? And are there any packs on the water looking really good? Or does the starting window coming up in a day or two have potential to be better than any previous opportunity?

With eight races active at once, of which six are Category 2 (expensive), I have chosen to ignore most of them... and have been ignoring IDEC so far. I think I might do an IDEC run, or Brest... Not sure which. IDEC has the advantage of enough time for two runs still before it closes, which is more fun for the money... especially if the winner hasn't already raced. But I'm having trouble motivating for IDEC while still doing NY-SF.

I would like to answer you even though my Virtual Regatta experience was only twenty races ago two years ago. What I see now are the top 100 in the VSR standings. First a small group that crossed the Cape of Good Hope in about 350 hours then the bulk of the troop party later I think to cross Cape Town in 380 hours. It's approximate but that's about it. Knowing that on November 6 in the morning the passage is estimated in 310 hours with a changeover to the equator in 6 days instead of 8 for those who seem to me the best. So for me, I do not see any other better time than November 6th. Others more experienced can confirm that I hope. Me anyway I'm already ready for this date! Sorry for my english "google translation" and hours of passage a little rough but the general idea is: I think we must go!

That's how this router works. But it also depends on weather patterns - keeping away from the Cape could mean the real route will pass further South.

The route will normalize by the time you get in the South hemisphere.

You can switch between UTC and local time in the Dashboard with the 'Local times' checkbox in the top right corner (applies only to new messages).
Zezo displays UTC for record type races and local time for other races.
