In Round Ireland I tried to steer around the fuc^^&$* island. Somehow I managed, despite irregular updates, boatmarker went all over the place. Thought I was clear, I do have a screenshot where the marker of my boat was safe, clear of the island, on its way to the cape (with Tipapacheri on the beach). 15 minutes later I noticed ranking was going down, mmmmm what's wrong? Logout, login, I was at the beach for 15 minutes or so..... whilst the inteface gave me the impression I was sailing, it reacted normally to course adjustments.

I had exactly the same problem. The UI showed that I rounded the cape, yet 4 minutes later I was pushed back where I was 10 mins before and grounded! This happened another 2 times trying to steer away from the coast, every time I was clear and then pushed back again 4 mins later and grounded. Went from 15 to 165, Thank you VR... I see a lot of sailors have the same problem

Same problem. I was clearly around and a few minutes further on when I suddenly was pushed back and got grounded. After that I was pushed 5 more times! Lost more than half an hour from around 100 to 1700.

Nothing new. At least five races down the drain due to this crap game interface. Not playing this one and that is quite relaxed.

I get your point now after these bizarre moments.

I think a LOT of people had problems. I ran aground a while before the island (due to my own stupidity - see Yet another bug in VR thread) and went from 70 to 135... I managed to get off and going again super quick - dashboard helped me verify and not experience what you did. I'm back at 70 again now though after "the island" including Tipapacheri and Djonny behind me who were well in front before I ran aground, let alone after.

Unfortunately I play this on my iPad so I cannot use the dashboard :(
Problem with this is that you don't have a clue where the boat is and what it's doing.
Before when running aground you steer clear and continue now one have to wait until the server has accepted the course and I don't know how long that takes.

same here, passing between the land and the island on my way to Mark 1.

Frustrating as hell, as I was monitoring, regularly going back to lobby and entering the race again to be sure, but yet that shitty interface managed to get me grounded.

The client still does not account for the penalties, so after a tack and/or sail change it projects your boat further ahead than really needed, then the server update brings it back. Add the lack of pro winches and few tacks and the track gets really weird and boat position quite uncertain.

aha, that's the root cause of the problem. so the effect gets worse when there is one or more penalty involved.

Same here. Rounded the island steering manually, and was heading toward gate 1, clear of any land, then about half an hour or so later I was put back grounded on the island. I contacted "support", left my dinghy grounded and I´m awaiting a respons and that they put me back in the same ranking as where I was when the server f up. So far the silence from "support" is deafening. I understand that there can be glitches, errors etc, but they either compensate you points/$$, or correct the glitch if possible. If this is not compensated/corrected for everyone affected mo more vr for moi, and they can go and ........... themselves.

overrr

Sorry guys, but I'm glad I was not the only one. Manual navigation is impossible if you don't want to sail an extra mile (safe route). Next time I'll buy me some navigation cards with credits. Alternatively, VR can make life a lot easier for us. It should be very simple to increase the server-UI synchronistaion rate to, for example, every 15 or 30 seconds when boat is in the proximity of the coast, island or cape. Alas, this will not happen, VR is too lazy, too arrogant (not our problem), and they want to make money from selling full packs or cards.

Have you noticed that VR make changes on Fridays, that have bugs. Then they bugger off (pardon the pun) for the weekend, probably get pissed celebrating a win at football. Then turn up on Monday morning to try and fix things. Do they not have a "duty" person to fix things at weekends?
