Right after the Leg 7 start the VORG site had problems and now has a splash page up saying the site is under maintenance.

Game doesn't load regardless of what smartphone, table or desktop browser I use.

Tested it at 1948 UTC. Awfully slow loading. Finally returns: "Information: you cannot enter the race now" in Portuguese.

"You cannot join the race right now". I'm headed for shore and will hit ground in a couple of hours. If this is not corrected in half an hour I think restart would be the right thing to do. Maybe Nantucket harbor 23 hours from now?

Looks like they are recovering. Work in progress as they are cutting back on nonessential services like their forum and etc that don't power the game but drain their server resources.

To All,
I am mystified by this changing of the VR URL after the crash at the start. I was waiting when 45 minutes later I saw Cvetan's post with a different URL. Am I suppose to know these things or is this just self-help? It seems a bit unfair for the uninformed.

RickW - MissAdventure and I have been using the link I posted for quite some time now. At least since the start of Leg 2. I found it at the bottom of the VOR website and was attracted to it by the lack of addition visual distractions found on the VR website. And that my friend is how I found that site. No privileged insider info.

These alternatives were offered only as an alternative to those having connection issues.

Still no joy here in Santa Cruz from any link. Tried two browsers, with and without ghost, all of the "usual suspects" a programmer would think of first.

I miss the game, but real world racing beckons. Time to go enjoy the summer. Good luck and I'll watch the finish.

I'm playing from volvooceanrace web site already for years.
true, from the beg of virtual VOR by virtualregatta, I'm not and never been using web of virtualregatta for sailing VVOR.
in fact... I was not even ever of their page, only by start of this campaign my I realised that in fact home of VVOR is elsewhere.
