Is there any way to know where the Escort Frigate is without participating in that regatta? I ask because if I go in to play I don't know where my boat will be when I start the race. Thanks a lot.

With the new rating system there is no more penalty if you don't finish. If you don't start you get zero points, and if you don't finish you get zero points.
