Would it be possible to have the pathtrack.appspot.com available again for this leg of the Figaro Solitaire. On the VORG it helped me lot getting very close to the coast without grounding. Also it makes the position of the opponent(s) very accurate visible!

Thanks!

Cvetan; care to answer this question? Shaving the coast in these races is very important and it would be a big help to use pathtrack also to see the traject the opponents are taking.

My only connection to that service was providing the routing data. I haven't heard from the author of pathtrack for a long time - since about Leg 8 of the VORG and have no idea if he will ever support other races.

What I use personally is a simple GC calculator (like http://williams.best.vwh.net/gccalc.htm. I ether the approximate coordinates from the game (minutes only) there. That's not very accurate, but neither is the game ground map - judging from boats beached on Dursey yesterday it has resolution of 1 minute of arc.

Also in the real world there is a cape that would have prevented you from sailing East of the island, as leading players did in the game, so google would not be too helpful there.

I went west of Dursey as I saw on google maps that there was not a straight passage through this street in real. You needed to make one tack to get passed. I read on the VR forum that Frogeater was testing passages, so he might have tested that one and all his stalkers followed him.

I'm quite sure though that Frog is on this website, so: Hi Frog! ;)
