It has been a great nine months! Long, and I think I should try any program next time I decide to make a commitment this big for maybe an hour or two before the event starts, instead of a few hours after! But even the parts that sucked were pretty fun overall, so I have to give a shout out to VR even if it could have been better. Things like this often don't come through. I've done big media event tie in games, and the players are usually not the sponsor's first interest.
But more than VR of course Cvetan, Pascal and some other very hard working people need to take a bow. Cvetan's Zezo and his patient help introducing me to the game's methods and quirks plus Zezo itself sanity checking my strategy late at night was great. Pascal's giant page of things that would be tedious to do on paper over and over, and more importantly tools that help compensate for characteristics of the game engine that don't exist in the real sport (like corner cases) are something a first timer was super thankful for.
And finally, I've made a lot of friends, had fun with a number of little side bets and grudge matches. I have run into a surprising number of people I know from the real world racing, from my two man catamaran days through the Maxi days.
If you are reading this, thank YOU too for supporting this great community, and I'll see you out there on the water, virtual or real life racing.
